Parking Services at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse is looking for a great colleague to join our team. The Parking Enforcement Officer plays a crucial role by patrolling University parking lots/ramps enforcing parking regulations and issuing citations. We utilize License Plate Recognition (LPR) technology equipped vehicles for patrolling our lots/ramps. Excellent customer service skills are required as this position interacts with a wide range of students employees and visitors. The normal work schedule for this position is Monday through Friday 7:00am to 3:30pm.

This position serves as the primary parking enforcement officer forUWLParking Services. Parking Lot/Ramp/Sign/Equipment Maintenance
Inspect the condition of parking lots/ramps during daily patrols and report to the supervisor any conditions that require maintenance or repair.
Maintain campus parking lots/ramps/equipment. Examples of tasks include: checking lots for damage and missing/damaged signs disposing of trash troubleshooting and maintaining parking meter meter collection and other cleaning and maintenance duties as required.
Maintain and inspect required equipment on a daily basis including vehicles assigned to Parking Services. Arrange for service and repairs as required.
Parking Enforcement and Patrol
PatrolUWL parkinglots/ramps in a License Plate Recognition (LPR) equipped vehicle and issue citations to vehicles in violation ofUWLpolicies.
Demonstrate effective public relations by courteously providing information direction and assistance to visitors students faculty and staff.
Respond to parking problems inUWLlots/ramps and take appropriate action.
Maintain accurate records. May be required to attend and provide testimony in parking appeal meetings or court hearings.
Set up barricades cones and temporary signs.
Maintain an orderly flow of vehicle and pedestrian traffic as required.
Train student employees on field operations and equipment usage.
Read all departmental correspondence on a daily basis.
Adhere to all state laws university and departmental rules policies and procedures.
Participate in and successfully complete all training required.
Maintain an accurate daily log of activities.
Other duties
Assist with front office tasks including customer interaction answering phones processing payments opening and closing the office as needed.
Maintain knowledge of departmental policies and procedures rules and regulations and other issued directives.
Provide input to improve Parking Services operations policies and procedures.
Actively communicate with Parking Services staff.
Assist with and provide support for special event parking.
Report problems disturbances suspicious persons or activities to police.

Knowledge of parking technology (T2 Patroller and Security Center).
Experience directing traffic and providing directions.
Knowledge of maintenance and repairs typically required for parking lots/ramps (sign repair/replacement lot painting asphalt and concrete repair pressure washing and meter operation).
