Position Summary

Why Its a Great Opportunity:In this role the IT division is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior IT Systems Analyst to join the this key role you will be responsible for analyzing designing and implementing commercial (CoTS/SaaS) solutions that support and enhance the way the County operates. You will work on large-scale system implementation projects as well as serving as the administrator of highly configurable SaaS applications.

The Information Technology Divisions 130 staff are responsible for building operating and maintaining the technologies that power essential public services in Pierce County. Why Its a Great Department:The Finance Department delivers enterprise-wide services that support every County department and many external partners ensuring Pierce County operates effectively efficiently and with strong public stewardship. Finance staff provide a broad portfolio of high-impact countywide services including budgeting and performance management fiscal services procurement and contracting information technology general services fleet services and risk management.

How to be Successful in the Role:Your success will come from utilizing your strong expertise in complex systems problem-solving customer service advanced configurations report creation management of SaaS or similar applications and experience in scripting or coding. You will also work closely with technical and non-technical stakeholders guiding them in evaluating their needs and helping them make informed decisions business needs streamline processes and ensure the seamless integration of technology solutions. Core daily responsibilities:

  • Serve as the project coordinator for major business analysis efforts functioning as liaison between business units and technology services. Consult and coordinate with departments to match user requirements with technology solutions.
  • Work with technologists system designers and programmers to research and determine technical solutions to enterprise applications and infrastructure; develop the plan method design and analysis for its execution; complete the configuration integration and data migration; and perform the implementation of the application. Review and assess 3rd party software solutions.
  • Define enterprise level system requirements and analyze fit/gap plan and provide recommendations for system workflows application integration product implementation and deliverables.
  • Conduct the installation implementation administration and support for 3rd party software solutions that support countywide initiatives. Trouble-shoot problems and recommend solutions.
  • Work with Department Business Analysts and IT peers to coordinate and create detailed project plans and schedules including risk identification to ensure the successful integration of new systems and applications.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with project staff (IT and Departments) and communicate sufficiently to exchange or convey information for project awareness.

Qualifications

  • A resume and cover letter are required for this position.
  • Bachelors degree in information technology computer sciences business/public administration or related field.
  • Four years of information technology or business analysis experience.
  • One year experience in a project lead role is required.
  • Additional education or experience which clearly indicates the ability to perform the essential functions of the position may substitute equally on a year of year basis for the recruiting requirements.
