We have an exciting full-time job opportunity as PARK SPECIALIST III - Mow Crew Leader.

WHAT YOULL DO:The Mow Crew Leader performs plans directs and supervises all aspects of the Park District mowing operation which includes mowing trimming edging along with spring and fall cleanups. They coordinate the day-to-day duties of 3 full-time mow crew staff and up to 5 seasonal staff.

  • The position reports to the Landscape Supervisor and works closely with them on recommendations for mowing operations including schedules routes staffing and equipment needs.
  • Other duties include seasonal turf maintenance park inspections tree removals and pruning pesticide applications mulching parking lot repair snow removal trash collection special events and general park maintenance.


WHAT YOULL BRING:

  • 3-4 years experience in landscape maintenance with increasing supervisory experience and a strong understanding of associated equipment is preferred.
  • Small engine diagnostic/repair experience preferred.
  • Assertive attitude well organized self-starter and ability to work and supervise independently.
  • A State of Illinois Pesticide Operators License and Class C drivers license are required within 6 months of hire.


WHEN YOULL WORK:
Workweek is Monday Friday and hours are 6:30am - 3:00pm with additional hours for snow removal and special events.

WHAT YOULL GET:

This position is classified under Pay Grade 4 with a salary range of $52600-$73639. For internal equity and budgetary considerations the anticipated starting pay for this role is set at $52600/year DOE.
