Job Summary

Leidos is seeking a Product Owner/Technical Business Analyst to be part of the mission solution and help lead SSAs Digital Modernization Strategy. Join one of our high performing teams responsible for building the next-generation enterprise APIs and modern responsive user interfaces supporting the Social Security Administration (SSA) and their mission to meet the changing needs of the public positively impacting at least 65 million American lives per month. We are a team of forward-looking professionals in need of a strong candidate with these key required skills:Product Ownership/Business Requirement Gathering Requirement Management Tools (Jira Confluence and HP ALM) Product Verification (manual tests automated tests live demonstrations) and basic SQL/Database.

  • Own and manage the product backlog: define prioritize and refine user stories based on business value and customer needs.

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into actionable user stories and acceptance criteria.

  • Manage stakeholder expectations and educate them on the development process capabilities and limitations.

  • Work closely with developers designers and QA teams to ensure timely delivery of features that meet quality standards.

  • Act as the primary point of contact for the development team regarding product functionality and roadmap priorities.

  • Ensure product features align with business objectives user expectations and the overall product vision.

  • Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning daily stand-ups reviews and retrospectives.

  • Continuously evaluate product performance gather user feedback and identify areas for improvement.

  • Perform data analysis reporting and gap analysis to identify process improvements and system enhancements.

  • Communicate progress risks and issues to stakeholders clearly and proactively.

  • Brief management customer team or vendors using written and oral skills at appropriate technical level for audience.

  • All other duties as assigned or directed.

FOUNDATION FOR SUCCESS (Basic Qualifications)

  • Bachelors degree in computer science mathematics engineering or a related field. Additional years of relevant experience may be considered in lieu of degree.

  • 6 years of combined experience as a Product Owner Business Analyst or similar role in an Agile environment.

  • 3 years of combined experience using Jira Confluence and HP ALM to document user stories / requirements.

  • 2 years of combined experience verifying product meets acceptance criteria using manual tests automated tests or live demonstrations.

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust. Contract requirement.

FACTORS TO HELP YOU SHINE (Required Skills)

These skills will help you succeed in this position:

  • Hands-on experience as product owner / technical business analyst translating stakeholder product vision into clear written concise user stories and acceptance criteria.

  • Proven ability to engage customers and stakeholders to develop business requirements.

  • Strong organizational skills and experience gathering legacy requirements from various systems (e.g. Jira Confluence HP ALM).

  • Solid experience working with Kanban Agile and Scrum methodologies.

  • Proficiency in using Jira Confluence and HP ALM to document user stories and requirements.

  • Basic experience using manual tests automated tests or live demonstrations to ensure product features align with business objectives user expectations and the overall product vision.

  • Excellent communication and written skills.

HOW TO STAND OUT FROM THE CROWD (Desired Skills)

Showcase your knowledge of modern development through the following experience or skills:

  • Basic knowledge of relational databases (PostgreSQL DB2) and SQL.

  • Solid experience with data modeling especially mapping data relationships.

  • SAFe Product Owner/Product Manager (POPM) certification.

  • Experience as product owner responsible for migrating legacy monolithic application to microservices in cloud.

  • Familiarity with legacy Mainframe systems and procedures.

The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline onlyand not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job education experience knowledge skills and abilities as well as internal equity alignment with market data applicable bargaining agreement (if any) or other law.
