Position Overview
Navitas Healthcare LLC is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Education Teacher to support elementary-level students with diverse learning needs in a school-based setting in South Riding Virginia. This role focuses on delivering individualized instruction implementing IEPs and collaborating with educators and support staff to promote student success in an inclusive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities
Provide specialized instruction aligned with students Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
Develop implement and monitor IEP goals accommodations and modifications
Adapt curriculum and instructional strategies to meet diverse academic and developmental needs
Collaborate with general education teachers administrators and related service providers
Monitor document and report student progress in accordance with school and district guidelines
Participate in IEP meetings evaluations and parent/guardian conferences
Implement academic and behavioral interventions as needed
Maintain a structured supportive and inclusive classroom environment
Ensure compliance with all federal state (Virginia) and local special education regulations
Required Qualifications
Valid Virginia Special Education teaching license or certification (required)
Bachelors degree or higher in Special Education or a related field
Experience working with elementary-aged students preferred
Strong understanding of IEP development special education laws and instructional best practices
Excellent communication collaboration and classroom management skills
Ability to support students with a wide range of academic behavioral and developmental needs
