Metrolinx is connecting communities across the Greater Golden Horseshoe. Metrolinx operates GO Transit and UP Express as well as the PRESTO fare payment system. As a Learning & Development Specialist you will play a key role in designing and delivering strategic programs that address current and future organizational needs. This position is ideal for someone who thrives on collaboration creativity and impact.
What will I be doing
- Partner with Senior Organizational Development & Learning Consultants to conduct training needs analyses and assess development requirements across the organization.
- Apply expertise in adult learning principles and innovative models to recommend effective solutions.
- Design and develop blended learning programs (classroom and virtual) aligned with business objectives.
- Create engaging training materials manuals and multimedia resources.
- Facilitate interactive classroom and virtual training sessions that inspire learning.
- Measure and report on training effectiveness and impact to ensure alignment with organizational priorities.
- Manage learning assignments and maintain accurate records in the Learning Management System (LMS).
- Collaborate with subject matter experts and external providers to deliver professional development programs.
- Stay current on trends best practices and innovations in learning and development.
- Build relationships with external organizations and educational institutions for benchmarking and continuous improvement.
What Were Looking For
- Strong applied knowledge of adult learning theory and instructional design principles.
- Experience designing and delivering blended learning programs using the ADDIE model.
- Excellent facilitation and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work collaboratively across teams.
- Familiarity with Learning Management Systems and digital learning tools.
What Skills and Qualifications Do I Need
- Education: University degree in Human Resources or related field with emphasis on learning and development; postgraduate diploma in Adult Learning preferred.
- Experience: Demonstrated years in instructional design and corporate-wide learning programs using the ADDIE model; experience with strategic talent management programs.
- Technical Skills: Demonstrated proficiency in Articulate 360 including storyline and other authoring tools; Learning Management Systems; ability to implement innovative blended learning solutions using modern technologies.
- Certifications:Certified Training and Development Professional (CTDP) designation is anasset.
- Core Competencies: Customer service teamwork initiative quality & safety and business engagement. Strong facilitation presentation and collaboration skills.
