Plans and delivers developmentally appropriate and evidence-based activities to promote social emotional physical and intellectual growth in young children from birth through five.
Essential Functions:- Plans and implements age-appropriate curriculum and activities.
- Monitors and assesses childrens progress and development.
- Communicates effectively with parents and guardians regarding their childs progress and needs.
- Maintains a safe and healthy learning environment for children.
- Collaborates with other teachers and staff to ensure a cohesive and effective learning environment.
- Keeps accurate records of progress and other important information.
Education Requirement:- Bachelors Degree in child development or early childhood special education or related field required.
- Masters Degree preferred.
Licensure Requirement:ODE teacher licensure as an Intervention Specialist for ages 3 8 (Pre-k-3) for teachers working with preschoolers preferred.
Certifications:Early Intervention Certification or certification eligibility from the Ohio State Department of DD required.
Skills: - Comprehensive knowledge of child growth development and family systems which impact the development of infants toddlers and preschoolers.
- Ability to use appropriate assessments tools to determine the current developmental levels of infants toddlers and preschoolers.
- Strong communication and teaching/learning skills.
- Knowledge of state and community programs and early intervention and special needs preschool resources is desirable.
- Maintains a knowledgebase and is skillful in use of technology and software.
Experience:Two years of experience with infants toddlers or preschoolers with special needs required.
