The department Student Administration and are looking for a student assistant to support the development of Tilly our chatbot platform in the support of the Student Desk. Tilly can ease the workload of the student desk by automatically and quickly answering frequently asked questions giving staff more time for more complex support.

This role is perfect for someone who enjoys combining creativity communication and organization to support teachers in making the best use of AI in their education.

In particular you will under supervision and management of the project group:

  • Writing and improving content: formulating chatbot responses in clear language (in Dutch and English) checking accuracy and tone of voice.
  • Testing the chatbot: trying out scenarios reporting errors and suggesting improvements.
  • Data analysis: reviewing conversation logs identifying recurring questions and proposing optimizations.
  • Maintaining documentation: writing manuals for staff updating instructions and sharing knowledge.
  • Collecting user feedback: distributing surveys and gathering feedback from students and staff.

Profile:

  • Strong organizational skills and a proactive attitude.
  • Good communication and writing skills in English.
  • Experience or affinity with IT developments in digital tools and chatbots
  • Willingness to learn and collaborate with a diverse team of support staff
  • Currently enrolled as a student at Tilburg University (including JADS) and have at least 60 ECTS in your study programme

Terms of employment:

  • 4-8 hours per week (on-call basis flexible working hours).
  • Hours will be declared every month; no fixed working days required.
  • Preferably you work most of the time on campus but there is an option to work remotely
  • You will use your own laptop for this work.

Our offer

The salary amounts to a minimum of 3.084 and a maximum of 3.141 gross per month for a full-time appointment based on the Student Assistant salary scale of the Collective Labour Agreement for Dutch Universities (CAO Nederlandse Universiteiten). This is an on-call contract in which holiday allowance year-end bonus and leave entitlements are included in the hourly rate. Tilburg University applies a neutral remuneration system for salary classification. Classification depends on the number of ECTS credits obtained.

This vacancy concerns a Student Employee on an on-call basis who provides support for non-structural and operational tasks in accordance with Article 2.3 paragraph 6 sub f of the Collective Labour Agreement for Dutch Universities. Conditions for employment as a Student Employee are that you are enrolled as a student at Tilburg University and that you have obtained at least 60 ECTS credits. You will receive a temporary employment contract for a period of 3 months with the possibility of extension for up to 3 months.

If you are not entitled to student finance you may qualify for reimbursement of sustainable commuting: walking cycling and public transport.
