Cost Consultant – Data Center Construction

Turner & Townsend is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Cost Consultant to join our data center team. This role is critical in supporting the financial and technical aspects of data center construction projects ensuring cost control accuracy and alignment with project execution strategies throughout the lifecycle.

We are ideally looking for a local candidate but will consider remote candidates with exceptional experience and qualifications.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain detailed cost estimates and budgets aligned with project scope schedule and execution plans.
• Integrate cost data with project schedules and work breakdown structures to support earned value analysis and performance tracking.
• Monitor and report on project cost performance identifying variances and recommending corrective actions.
• Collaborate closely with engineering construction and procurement teams to ensure cost alignment with technical requirements.
• Support change management processes by evaluating cost impacts of scope changes and schedule adjustments.
• Prepare and present cost reports forecasts and trend analyses to project stakeholders.
• Engage and manage third-party quantity surveyors and validate construction cost estimates.
• Maintain historical cost data and benchmarking tools to support future project planning.
• Lead monthly cost reporting and analysis including tracking of key performance indicators.
• SOX control responsibilities may be part of this role which are to be adhered to where applicable.

Qualifications :

• Minimum of 3 years experience in cost engineering with a focus on data center construction.
• Bachelors degree in Engineering Construction Management Finance or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.
• Strong analytical skills proficiency in cost estimation software excellent communication and presentation abilities and a solid understanding of financial forecasting and cost accounting principles.
• Strong presentation skills and ability to thrive in a client-facing role. 
• Good organization skills ability to multi-task prioritize and be a team player.
