Staff Infrastructure Engineer

Were excited to announce an opening for a Staff Infrastructure Engineer to join our Infrastructure Team within the Platform Domain. You will play a critical role in defining and implementing the vision for the Platform supporting Factorials growth for the years to come.

Our mission is to keep the Factorial application running 24/7 ensure its performance scalability and security as well as research improvements to enable Product Engineers to develop new use cases adding value to our customers.

So...What does a Staff level Engineer do at Factorial

• Design and develop scalable software solutions that meet business requirements and enhance user experience.
• Lead technical discussions and provide guidance to junior engineers on best practices and coding standards.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful delivery of features.
• Perform code reviews to ensure code quality maintainability and performance optimization.
• Identify and troubleshoot software defects and implement effective solutions.
• Stay updated with emerging technologies and industry trends to continuously improve skills and knowledge.

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a software engineer with a strong background in software development methodologies with experience in SaaS or startup environment being a plus.
• Expertise in programming languages such as Java Python Ruby or JavaScript.
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS Azure or Google Cloud Platform.
• Having been on the Tier 2 on-call rotation handling production incidents.
• Deep knowledge on MySQL administration (deploying upgrading fine tuning configuration for performance and stability) in production
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
• Excellent communication skills in English.
• At least 10 years of experience working as a Systems/Infra Engineer with a background as an application developer.

As we love transparency our Career Path includes the salaries for each level and we share it during the first interview to make sure were aligned.

For this position the annual gross salary is 86250 and 108000. This includes a base salary of between 75000 and 90000 a variable pay of up to 18000 annually (paid quarterly) depending on the companys goals and quality metrics.

Your daily life with us

You will be a product-centric engineer (not a ticket-handling machine) taking ownership of mid and large-size initiatives in parallel to routine maintenance or incident resolution work.

You will review code and get feedback on your own code.

You will learn from the entire team both on technical topics (performance architecture) and core skills in an environment driven by engineering quality.

You will share your knowledge through the RFCs you write pairing sessions our mentoring program or the occasional appearance in the monthly Tech All Hands.
