Are you passionate about nature health and making a meaningful impact in communities Walsall Council with funding from the National Lottery Heritage Fund Natural England and the National Trust is excited to announce multiple opportunities as we are now recruiting for the following role as part of the innovative Nature Towns and Cities Project.

About the Nature Towns & Cities Project:

The Nature Towns and Cities Project is a transformative programme designed to enhance Walsalls green and blue spaces promote biodiversity and integrate nature and health priorities into the heart of our boroughs regeneration. Working with a diverse range of partnersincluding Natural England Birmingham & Black Country Wildlife Trust Canal and River Trust University of Birmingham Walsall Together and local community groupsthis project will deliver lasting benefits for residents visitors and the environment.

As A Project Officer:

  • Project Delivery and Coordination: Support the delivery monitoring and evaluation of the 1m Nature Towns and Cities project including project management stakeholder communications and governance.
  • Publicity and Communication: Lead on press releases events social media and other publicity activities ensuring effective communication and evidence of impact.
  • Community Engagement: Plan deliver and evaluate community pilot projects and grant programmes acting as the main point of contact for community and business partners.

Our ideal candidate is a passionate and organised individual with experience in delivering green space or nature conservation projects. They should have strong project management skills excellent communication abilities and the capability to build effective relationships with diverse stakeholders. For internal council candidates the role can be applied for as a fixed-term role or a secondment.
