Job Summary

We are seeking a hands-on Purchasing Team Leader to manage day-to-day purchasing and logistics activities and support a small team. This role works closely with suppliers freight partners and internal teams to ensure stock availability cost control and a high level of internal customer service.

Responsibilities include

  • Manage daily purchasing and ordering of stock

  • Lead and support the purchasing team allocating work as needed

  • Liaise with suppliers and negotiate pricing delivery and terms

  • Maintain strong relationships with suppliers and freight forwarders

  • Track inbound shipments and ensure accurate delivery information

  • Support sales teams with pricing and ETA enquiries

  • Work closely with warehouse and accounts teams to resolve issues

  • Identify cost savings and process improvements

  • Ensure compliance with WHS and company policies

About you Skills experience and qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years experience in a purchasing supply chain or logistics role

  • Previous team leadership or coordination experience

  • Strong organisational and time management skills

  • Confident communicator with good attention to detail

  • Comfortable using purchasing or ERP systems

  • Proactive reliable and solution focused

  • Experience in machinery or parts supply desirable but not essential
