Please note that whilst the base of this role will be Preston Lancashire we provide a county wide Lancashire service and in order to meet the needs of the people we serve you will be expected to be prepared to work across Lancashire as necessary.

Where: Preston

Hours: Full Time 37.5 hours per week

Full Time Salary: *37184.91 - 43384.62 (Pro rata for part time)

*Please note: Full-time hours at Change Grow Live are 37.5 hours per week. For part-time roles the salary and payments will be pro rata based on contracted hours.

Responsibilities

About the role:

  • Undertake physical and mental health assessments for people who access our services whenindicatedby clinical need and ensureappropriate signposting/referral to primary care orappropriate secondaryhealth care services foridentifiedhealthissues.
  • Provide education healthpromotionand screening for blood borne viruses (BBV). Provide Hepatitis B vaccinations whenindicated.
  • Contribute to CGLs Naloxone Strategy by training staff and service users in the use of Naloxone. Ensuring Naloxone is distributed to service users at everyopportunity.
  • Develop therapeutic alliances with people who have substance misuse problems and develop effective partnerships withthem.
  • Ensure that procedures are constantly reviewed to promote best practice andevidencedbased practicein accordance withUK Guidelines on Clinical Management NICE guidance and CGL clinical protocols andprocedures.
  • Provideharm reduction advice to injecting service users providing information and equipment and ensure all equipment is disposed ofsafely.
  • Record and input client data and information in order that the serviceoperateswithin contractual administrative and financialrequirements.

About you:

  • First level registered nurse with recent relevant post qualification experienceand a current PIN
  • Relevant recent experience of working within drug and alcohol treatment (desirable but not essential)
  • Sound and demonstrable knowledge of harm reduction and health promotion interventions
  • Ability to assess and recovery plan service users and formulate writtenreports asnecessary.
  • Clinical auditing skills to inform evaluation of the service andidentifyareas fordevelopment.
  • Employ a professional empathetic and non-judgmental attitude towards
    service users and allstakeholders.
  • An understanding of the importance of professional integrity in relationships with service users peers and other relevant professionals
