Life on the team
Join our Enterprise Team at Computacenter and play a key role in supporting our Managed Service customers. As an experienced Platform (Unix) Administrator youll work in a dynamic environment managing critical infrastructure built for high availability and performance. Youll be responsible for day-to-day Unix administration installations backup and recovery and project delivery while also providing out-of-hours support on a rota basis.
Hatfield Nottingham or Milton Keynes (full-time in office)
Must be SC Cleared or willingness to undertake
What Youll Do
- Deliver high-quality technical support and project work across RHEL Oracle Linux and other Unix environments
- Collaborate with Architecture and Engineering teams on design and implementation
- Provide technical break/fix support including 24/7 on-call rota participation
- Mentor junior team members and share knowledge to drive continuous improvement
- Ensure compliance with IT methodologies and proactively manage risks and issues
- Complete regular administration tasks and maintain service levels
What youll need
- Expert knowledge of Unix administration (RHEL & Oracle Linux)
- Familiarity with Ansible Podman Docker and Azure
- Experience with high availability systems and replication
- Knowledge of Oracle middleware databases and backup/recovery tools (NetBackup/Veeam)
- Understanding of ITIL v4 ISO 20000 and ISO 27000 standards
- Strong analytical problem-solving and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively across multiple geographies
