Job Summary
The teacher is responsible for providing high-quality instruction in English Language Arts for students in Grades 35 while serving as the 4th Grade Homeroom teacher. The role includes integrating Catholic teachings into daily instruction maintaining a nurturing and structured classroom environment and supporting the academic spiritual and social development of students.
Job Responsibilities
Instruction & Curriculum
Plan and deliver engaging developmentally appropriate ELA instruction aligned with diocesan state and national standards for Grades 35
Teach reading writing grammar spelling and vocabulary using best instructional practices
Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of students
Assess student progress using formative and summative assessments and adjust instruction accordingly
Integrate technology and literacy resources to enhance learning
Homeroom Responsibilities
Serve as primary homeroom teacher for 4th grade students
Establish and maintain a positive respectful and faith-filled classroom environment
Oversee daily routines including attendance morning prayer announcements and student organization
Support students social-emotional growth and promote responsibility and self-discipline
Faith Integration
Integrate Catholic values and teachings into the curriculum and classroom activities
Lead students in daily prayer and participate in school liturgies Masses and religious activities
Uphold the teachings of the Catholic Church
Communication & Collaboration
Communicate regularly and effectively with parents/guardians regarding student progress and classroom expectations
Collaborate with colleagues administrators and support staff to enhance student learning
Participate in faculty meetings professional development and school events
Job Requirements
Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Education or related field (required)
Valid teaching certification or eligibility per diocesan/state requirements
Experience teaching elementary ELA preferred
Practicing Catholic preferred (or willingness to support and uphold Catholic teachings)
Strong classroom management and communication skills
