Job Summary

Job Summary

The teacher is responsible for providing high-quality instruction in English Language Arts for students in Grades 35 while serving as the 4th Grade Homeroom teacher. The role includes integrating Catholic teachings into daily instruction maintaining a nurturing and structured classroom environment and supporting the academic spiritual and social development of students.

Job Responsibilities

Instruction & Curriculum

  • Plan and deliver engaging developmentally appropriate ELA instruction aligned with diocesan state and national standards for Grades 35

  • Teach reading writing grammar spelling and vocabulary using best instructional practices

  • Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of students

  • Assess student progress using formative and summative assessments and adjust instruction accordingly

  • Integrate technology and literacy resources to enhance learning

Homeroom Responsibilities

  • Serve as primary homeroom teacher for 4th grade students

  • Establish and maintain a positive respectful and faith-filled classroom environment

  • Oversee daily routines including attendance morning prayer announcements and student organization

  • Support students social-emotional growth and promote responsibility and self-discipline

Faith Integration

  • Integrate Catholic values and teachings into the curriculum and classroom activities

  • Lead students in daily prayer and participate in school liturgies Masses and religious activities

  • Uphold the teachings of the Catholic Church

Communication & Collaboration

  • Communicate regularly and effectively with parents/guardians regarding student progress and classroom expectations

  • Collaborate with colleagues administrators and support staff to enhance student learning

  • Participate in faculty meetings professional development and school events

Job Requirements

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Education or related field (required)

  • Valid teaching certification or eligibility per diocesan/state requirements

  • Experience teaching elementary ELA preferred

  • Practicing Catholic preferred (or willingness to support and uphold Catholic teachings)

  • Strong classroom management and communication skills
