Overview

AtkinsRéalis is looking for a Senior Electrical Engineer to join our National Capital Region this role you will be responsible for the electrical design and execution of a wide variety of projects with a focus on industrial municipal and hydro-electric/nuclear utilities. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining existing client relationships and developing new clients coordinating work with other offices and disciplines and satisfying customer expectations and requirements. Your technical knowledge of low medium and high voltage electrical distribution and associated protection of electrical equipment will set you apart from other candidates. This position will be responsible for engineering project work from conceptual design through to completion on a wide variety of complex projects in Ottawa and across Canada.

Your role

  • Lead and manage the delivery of the electrical design and systems in multi-disciplinary projects from preliminary design through completion.
  • Develop new business in the Ottawa area. Support the growth of the electrical team in Ottawa.
  • Client interaction and management.
  • Prepare Electrical Engineering fee estimates for proposals project estimates design reports and other technical documents as required. Manage and perform other related tasks as required to successfully complete the delivery and handover of projects.
  • Preparation of electrical single line diagrams AC control schematics wiring distribution schemes panel schedules. Development of cable block diagrams and cable and conduit schedules. Design of physical layout of electrical equipment cables raceways and grounding plans related to the various facilities within the plant. Coordination studies and arc flash calculations. Perform site inspections.
  • Design work in accordance with the Canadian Electrical Code.
  • Supervise the work of Engineers Designers and CAD Technicians provide technical guidance and mentor and develop junior staff.

About you

  • Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering. Registered as a Professional Engineer () with PEO.
  • 10 years experience in electrical consulting in various market verticals. Knowledge and application of the Canadian Electrical Code. Strong business acumen.
  • Experience with AutoCAD and Revit is an asset. Experience with industrial control system design and PLC programming is an asset.
  • Computer Skills - MS Office Suite (Word Excel Outlook etc.).
  • Must have a valid drivers license. Demonstrated excellent written and oral English communication skills.

Expected compensation for this role is between Pay Range $120000 - $160000 annually (Only Applicable to Ontario). Base salaries are determined according to several parameters like skills experience and potential impact on the role. Internal and external competitiveness are also taken into account in our offers.
