Location: New York NY 10025
Duration: 9 Weeks (Contract)
Schedule: 7:00 AM 3:15 PM Every Other Weekend (EOW) Required
Pay Rate: $20/hour
Job Summary
Navitas Healthcare LLC is seeking Patient Care Associate for an exciting job in New York NY.
Key Responsibilities
Patient Care & Clinical Support
Measure record and document vital signs including blood pressure pulse temperature respirations intake and output
Obtain and document patient pain ratings as the fifth vital sign (excluding Pediatrics)
Perform clinical tasks such as specimen collection venipuncture EKGs application of compression devices post-mortem care and skin integrity maintenance
Assist registered nurses with patient procedures and clinical setup
Support patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) including feeding bathing oral care toileting positioning and ambulation
Orient patients to the unit environment and assist with all levels of mobility
Dietary & Nutritional Support
Deliver and retrieve patient meal trays at bedside
Assist patients with menu selections and nutritional supplements
Monitor and report changes in appetite or eating patterns
Communicate dietary orders and updates accurately to nursing or dietary teams
Safety Environment & Observation
Maintain a safe clean and organized patient care environment
Provide one-to-one or close observation for patient safety including elopement or suicide risk
Follow isolation precautions per facility and nursing protocols
Conduct scheduled purposeful rounding focused on comfort toileting positioning and pain awareness
Document rounding activities and report concerns to nursing staff
Unit & Administrative Support
Utilize unit communication systems as required
Complete assigned documentation and reports accurately
Transport patients via wheelchair or stretcher
Transport specimens and operate pneumatic tube systems as needed
Assist with patient admissions transfers and discharges
Maintain supplies care for equipment and update patient communication boards
Shared Unit Responsibilities
Greet visitors and respond to inquiries professionally
Answer patient call systems and route requests appropriately
Perform discharge bedmaking emergency clean-up and patient transport
Remove trash and report equipment or facility-related issues promptly
Required Knowledge Skills & Abilities
Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills
Ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team
Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks
Sound judgment and problem-solving skills in fast-paced environments
Proficiency in spoken and written English
Physical stamina and manual dexterity to perform clinical duties
