AtkinsRéaliss Minerals and Metals team in Canada is made up of more than 400 employees who work on large-scale projects to support mining sustainability pit-to-port opportunities metallurgical plant engineering or mine closure and capabilities in the study design and construction of mining projects across a wide range of mining and processing methods and commodities. We are seeking a highly experienced and hands-on Engineering Manager to lead Concept Pre-Feasibility (PFS) Feasibility (FS) Front-End Engineering Design (FEED) studies and detailed engineering (DE) for mineral processing projects with a focus on copper and gold.

This role is critical to ensuring technically sound cost-effective and execution-ready outcomes that align with client objectives. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong leadership structured planning and a collaborative approach to project delivery.

This opportunity supports the growth of our M&M business located in Toronto Ontario and Vancouver British Columbia.

Your role

  • Lead and manage Concept PFS FS and FEED studies for mineral processing projects particularly in copper and gold.
  • Oversee cross-functional teams across engineering procurement and construction disciplines.
  • Develop and control project schedules budgets and resource allocations.
  • Conduct structured trade-off studies and risk assessments to support decision-making.
  • Ensure technical quality and compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Engage in process design equipment selection vendor coordination and foster strong relationships with clients vendors and internal teams.
  • Prepare and present detailed reports and recommendations to stakeholders driving continuous improvement in project execution and study methodologies.

About you

  • Bachelors degree in Metallurgy Chemical Engineering or a related field with Masters degree or PhD being an asset.
  • 1520 years of experience in mineral processing focusing on copper and/or gold including managing PFS FS and FEED studies in the mining sector and advanced technologies in mineral processing and battery materials.
  • Registered as a Professional Engineer in Ontario / Quebec or eligible for status in any Canadian province is an asset.
  • 5 years of experience leading multidisciplinary teams on large- and small-scale projects within Mining and Metals with bilingual capabilities (e.g. English French) being an asset.
  • Strong understanding of process flowsheets equipment integration constructability and proficiency in project management tools (e.g. MS Project Primavera @Risk) as well as familiarity with SmartPlant 3D AutoCAD and other engineering software.
  • Operational and site experience in mineral processing plants knowledge of project safety standards and the ability to drive safety culture along with excellent communication leadership and stakeholder engagement skills.

Expected compensation for this role is (between Pay Range $122500- $168400 annually) (Only Applicable to British Columbia). Base salaries are determined according to several parameters like skills experience and potential impact on the role. Internal and external competitiveness are also taken into account in our offers.
