POSITION OVERVIEW

The Coordinator Environmental (CEnv) will actively collaborate and participate as a valued member of the Environmental Team to provide environmental guidance technical support and coordinate activities and processes across multiple departments within the Corpus Christi Liquefaction (CCL) Facility. The CEnv reports directly to the Supervisor Environmental and will support the goals and functions of the Environmental Department in ensuring continued compliance during all aspects of facility project planning maintenance and operations. Under general supervision the CEnv is expected to provide regulatory and technical support to all disciplines within the Environmental Department. The CEnv is expected to liaise with other departments at the site that are impacted by environmental regulations and standards.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Provide guidance and support to various business units to ensure that environmental compliance requirements are met during daily operations planning and execution of proposed maintenance tasks facility projects modifications and capital projects.
  • Assist in identification interpretation and dissemination of process data impacting facility compliance with environmental regulations/permits applicable to the CCL Site.
  • Review and continually enhance knowledge of current and proposed regulations codes standards and company requirements in support of the Environmental Department in recommending appropriate technical and operational program measures and developing proactive strategies to ensure facility environmental compliance.
  • Effectively communicate environmental requirements and compliance strategies to other departments and business units. Inform and update other departments and business units on any indications of deviations related to permit conditions applicable codes standards and company environmental plans and procedures and possible environmental hazards and risks.
  • Support preparation of air emissions calculations for air quality authorizations permitting emissions inventory Title V permit compliance and emissions event reporting.
  • Assist in monitoring waste water processes ensuring proper sampling and testing procedures and preparing reports for regulatory agencies.
  • Analyze incident investigations and root cause analyses and develop environmental solutions and technical guidance for compliance issues....
  • Provide technical support during response clean-up and remediation efforts involving facility spills and releases including pre- and post-event release calculations to air water and soil. Provide guidance on regulatory agency correspondence and reporting requirements. Ensure validity of environmental monitoring data
  • Provide technical review of protocols work plans and regulatory required environmental reports.
  • Coordinate with the Corporate Health Safety and Environmental Teams to ensure proper operation and validation of environmental management systems and other environmental monitoring and reporting electronic tools.
  • Periodically evaluate processes for waste minimization opportunities through process design changes or alternative chemical and material usage. Participate in the evaluation and approval of new chemicals.
  • Participate and assist in regulatory audits and documentation of corrective actions.
  • Participate in the planning for scheduled maintenance outage and commissioning projects and identification of process parameters to assess for environmental impacts

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

Knowledge:

The CEnv should possess a basic knowledge of environmental programs related to the Oil and Gas Industry. A basic understanding of Natural Gas Liquefaction LNG transportation and storage processes is preferred. The CEnv is also expected to be familiar with the various federal state and local agency regulations (including but not limited to FERC PHMSA OSHA USCG EPA TCEQ RRC and GLO) that may impact the functional departments within the Facility.

Skills:

  • Proficiency in executing calculations and concepts.
  • Proficiency in problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Proficiency in interpreting PIDs PFDs piping isometrics and other related engineering design drawings.
  • Proficiency in performing data analysis of industrial process parameters.
  • Exceptional written verbal and interpersonal communication skills across multiple levels.
  • Organized and able to manage and prioritize multiple activities and programs with competing priorities in a timely manner.
  • Proficiency with computers and software applications including process operating systems environmental management systems systems integration concepts Microsoft SharePoint Microsoft Office Suite (Access PowerPoint Projects Teams Word Visio and advanced skills in Excel spreadsheet manipulation computation and programing).
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) card in good standing status.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Education and Certifications:

  • Bachelors degree in relevant applied science discipline engineering or 5-7 yrs of relevant experience.
  • Must have or be able to obtain CPR First Aid certification and have knowledge of basic emergency procedures.
  • Maintain valid drivers license certifications and training required to support job functions as applicable.

Experience:

  • Minimum of two (2) years progressive experience in environmental compliance in support of LNG gas processing large natural gas pipeline facilities refinery petrochemical infrastructure or similar facilities.
  • Knowledge of TPDES permits Tier-II reporting PWS SPCC and SWPPP plans regulations and reporting preferred.

DIRECT REPORTS

There are no direct reports reporting to this position. The CEnv is considered a role model in setting the companys environmental culture and developing similar environmental stewardship across all employees.

FREEDOM TO ACT

The CEnv has a high degree of aptitude in their field and requires moderate supervision. The CEnv will be empowered to recommend corrective actions as needed and will document the corrective actions employed that may have violated company policy laws and regulations pursuant to facility regulatory requirements permits or authorizations.

WORK CONDITIONS

  • Periodic travel as business requires.
  • While performing the duties of this job the employee is often required to stand walk sit climb stairs work at heights on stairs and catwalks balance stoop kneel crouch talk or hear smell type and write.
  • Must be able to board ships via gangways climb to the top of storage tanks (200 steps) scale vertical steel ladders up to forty feet or more in height and lift and move objects weighting up to 30 pounds.
  • While performing the duties of this job the employee will work indoors and outdoors and be exposed to year around weather conditions.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision color vision peripheral vision depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Subject to drug and alcohol testing per applicable federal regulations or as required by Cheniere.
  • Periodically required to work nights weekends and holidays based on asset needs and a weekly rotating on-call schedule with other members of the Environmental Team.
