Public Health Officer - NE Regional Reducing Gambling Harms Middlesbrough Council are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Public Health Officer to support the North East Reducing Gambling Harms network.
This post will contribute to the delivery of a regional programme of work addressing the harms and inequalities associated with gambling. All members of society have the right to live without unnecessary and preventable risk to health and safety from gambling products and gambling industry practices whether land-based or online. Association of Directors of Public Health The network is an established dedicated multi-agency partnership approach with representation from public health trading standards and the NHS. It will also involve working alongside academic partners to embed a culture of test evaluate learn and report. This will enable a robust multi-method evaluation approach to be applied to interventions and support for knowledge mobilisation and wider dissemination.
Applications are invited from dynamic individuals who are keen to support the delivery of this exciting programme across the entire region. This post will focus on gambling-related harms and be responsible for delivering on specific public health priorities.
This will be achieved by:
Supporting and managing a range of initiatives focusing on key priorities associated with gambling-related harms.
Leading the coordination and delivery of a regional programme of work specific to gambling-related harms.
Working closely with a wide range of partners to build system capacity and test a range of interventions across the region.
Supporting primary secondary and tertiary prevention approaches to address gambling-related harms.
Building relationships with key organisations communities and the VCS to achieve outcomes.
Leading on specific areas of work directed by the Advanced Public Health Practitioner contributing to the wider public health agenda.
