MUFG Securities is seeking a Human Resources Business Partner Lead to champion the people agenda across four key locations in Asia. Reporting directly to the CEO and Chief Human Resources Officer for Asia this pivotal role will see you at the heart of shaping and implementing HR strategy policies and people plans that align with both global standards and local requirements. As the primary HR leader for the Securities entity you will ensure all HR activities are compliant effective and supportive of a high performing engaged workforce. What youll do:

As the Human Resources Business Partner Lead based in Singapore/ Hong Kong you will be instrumental in delivering comprehensive HR support across four major Asian locations. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve partnering closely with executive leadership teams to provide strategic advice on people issues while driving alignment between global HR delivery models and local market needs. You will play a vital role in shaping talent strategiesidentifying high-potential employees facilitating succession planning for key roles including the CEOs direct reports and executing impactful development programmes. Your expertise will be essential in managing risk culture measures; overseeing regulatory compliance; coordinating certifications; handling sensitive employee relations cases; embedding diversity equity & inclusion into every aspect of the business; and enhancing overall employee experience through wellbeing initiatives. Success in this position requires you to build strong relationships across functionsLegal Finance Complianceand maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends so that you can continuously improve local HR processes while safeguarding organisational integrity.

  • Act as a trusted advisor to the CEO and regional leadership team by providing expert guidance on complex people matters coaching leaders through change initiatives and supporting critical talent processes.
  • Lead regional business function change initiatives in collaboration with Regional HR Business Partner Leads Centres of Excellence (CoEs) and other stakeholders to ensure seamless implementation of strategic priorities.
  • Represent Human Resources on internal and external boards or committees by preparing statutory submissions reports governance materials and regulatory attestations to support robust compliance.
  • Monitor people-related risk indicators such as mandatory training compliance and regulated roles fitness while ensuring accurate data reporting and clear recommendations for action.
  • Coordinate annual certifications license renewals statutory audit responses and liaise with regulators to ensure timely closure of actions or findings related to HR operations.
  • Drive the formation of people and talent strategies by collaborating regionally with HR colleagues to shape projects linked to talent acquisition development initiatives succession planning and cyclical or ad-hoc activities.
  • Build deep understanding of high-potential individuals within client groups by leading know your talent activities and proactively engaging with leadership teams to develop robust talent pools.
  • Support performance management processes by guiding leaders through annual goal setting mid-year reviews year-end evaluations and ensuring fair reward outcomes aligned with global strategies.
  • Collaborate closely with Employee Relations teams to manage complex cases such as disciplinary matters or grievances while ensuring all actions comply with local legislation and internal fairness standards.
  • Partner with Diversity & Inclusion leads to embed inclusive practices into decision-making processes while driving regional objectives for recruiting developing and retaining diverse talent.

Your flexibility allows you to adapt quickly when priorities shift; your attention to detail ensures accuracy even under pressure; your resourcefulness means you always find ways forwardeven amidst ambiguitywhile your inclusive leadership style inspires those around you.

  • Extensive experience in an HR business partner or similar role at a global or regional level within matrixed environments where collaboration is key.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead employee relations matters including complex case management such as disciplinary issues or grievances while maintaining confidentiality.
  • Proven track record of developing strategic HR initiatives that have contributed significantly to achieving business objectives and enhancing organisational performance.
  • Experience partnering with senior leaders to influence outcomes collaboratively while balancing competing priorities in fast-paced settings.
  • Strong interpersonal skills enabling effective cross-cultural communication within global teams as well as building consensus among diverse stakeholders.
  • Deep understanding of generalist HR practices including large-scale cyclical talent management activities such as performance reviews or compensation planning.
  • Exceptional discretion when handling highly confidential information about peers or colleagues coupled with tactful communication abilities.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (PowerPoint Excel Word Outlook) for data analysis and presentation purposes relevant to HR strategy formulation.
  • Bachelors degree or equivalent qualification demonstrating commitment to professional development within human resources discipline.
  • High degree of adaptability combined with resilience when navigating organisational change or responding to evolving business needs.
  • This position can be based in Singapore/ Hong Kong subject to the candidates citizenship and applicable employment eligibility requirements.
