DEFINITION

The Business Information Systems Analyst performs advanced systems analysis and operational support for Tyler Technologies Enterprise ERP solution for the public sector (Munis). This role is responsible for collaborating with school and central office personnel to access information and data processing needs coordinating Munis functional processes and administering Munis user security. Duties include leading and supporting one or more major Munis functional areas while also providing cross-functional support as assigned by the Executive Director of Budget Grants and Business Information Systems.

SUPERVISION

Work is performed under the general supervision of the Executive Director of Budget Grants and Business Information Systems and the Senior Coordinator of Business Information Systems. Establish policies and procedures guide the work. Most decisions are made independently. The position may provide direct supervision to lower-level specialists and will consistently provide technical guidance to project team members.

DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS

This position represents the advanced systems analyst level within the Information Systems Specialist series. It is distinguished from the ISS II level by its increased responsibility expertise and leadership expectations.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE CLASS (may not include all duties performed by each position in the class)

Assists the Senior Coordinator of Business Information Systems with one or more major Munis functional areas such as Time and Attendance.

Serves as the lead for Payroll and assist Payroll any help with Munis.

Serves as the lead with user security menu maintenance patch management application upgrades and other specialized system administration functions.

Prepares and maintains reports administers user access and security and applies patches with appropriate testing.

Oversees Munis application upgrades from testing through production deployment.

Collaborates with functional owners to identify data inaccuracies.

Develops error reports documentation and user procedures to support data correction and error prevention.

Responds to ad hoc user requests for information.

Leads team members in the creation of informational presentations or reports.

Provides technical direction evaluates work for accuracy and completeness and monitors progress for supervisors.

Consults with user groups to define informational needs identify data sources design reports forms and related informational tools.

Assists the Executive Director of Budget Grants and Business Information Systems and the Senior Coordinator of Business Information Systems with workgroup management responsibilities including budget planning professional development planning and coordination of system updates.

Performs related duties as assigned.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES

MINIMUM EDUCATION TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

Bachelors degree in Computer Science Management Information Systems Finance Payroll Accounting or a related field and extensive experience supporting major application systems - preferably in public school systems financial or human resources environments. An equivalent combination of education experience and training that demonstrates the required knowledge skills and abilities will also be considered.

LICENSE/CERTIFICATION

Valid drivers license.

PHYSICAL ATTRIBUTES

Work involves routine physical activities such as sitting walking standing bending and reaching. This role may require carrying a laptop computer and working in confined spaces.

HAZARDS

Work involves exposure to typical office-related risks and requires sustained use of desktop computers.

UNUSUAL DEMANDS

The position may require overtime after-hours support and on-call availability. Work is subject to shifting priorities evolving requirements and frequent interruptions. The ability to remain flexible and resilient under pressure is essential. This position is classified as exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act.
