Industrial Engineering Intern

Takealot Group South Africas leading online Retail / Delivery organisation is looking for a highly talented Industrial Engineering Intern to join our team in Durban Distribution Centre. The Internship Program will be split between all businesses within the Group namely: TFS and Mr. D

Requirements:

Qualifications & Experience:

N6 Certificate in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or a related field.

• Data analysis skills (Excel Power BI SQL advantageous)
• Understanding of supply chain operations and production processes
• Willingness to learn in a fast-paced environment.

Key responsibilities:

• Analyse operational workflows and identify areas for improvement.
• Assist in developing solutions to reduce cost increase efficiency and improve productivity.
• Work with operations managers and DC Champions to resolve daily operational issues.
• Support Industrial engineers with small projects at warehouse machinery/equipment materials handling and packaging.
• Assist with process mapping and document standard operating procedures (SOPs).
• Ensure operations align with safety engineering and quality standards.

This is a 12-month contract position.
