About the Role
Atana (Pty) Ltd (formerly Royal HaskoningDHV) is in the market for a Revit Technician / Technologist / Engineer in Controls / Electronics / Security / Telecoms Engineering in our South Africa offices in either Johannesburg / Cape Town / Durban to join our Mission Critical Facilities team working on Data Centre / Industrial / Aviation & Water Infrastructure projects in South Africa Africa and Globally.
Requirements
Desired Qualifications and Professional Registration
Diploma / BTech / BSc / BEng Electrical/Electronics/3D modeling or equivalent qualification / certification is required.
Minimum of 4 years relevant experience in the consulting engineering built-environment as a designer/modeler/draughts person in C&I / Electronics / Security / Telecoms engineering projects. Mid-level candidates required.
Sound Controls / electronics / security / Telecoms engineering services design expertise & experience is required.
Experience with building type projects is required and exposure to industrial or data center building projects is beneficial.
Revit modelling proficiency is required and shall be assessed.
BIM / ACC & Revizto experience is beneficial.
Knowledge of Dynamo Python and other ways to automate your work is beneficial.
Experience with common data environments and other relevant platforms is beneficial.
Appropriate knowledge of local and international standards and codes is required.
Duties and Responsibilities
We will entrust and rely on you to:
Develop BIM families and efficiently engineer and model design using technical and 3D/BIM modeling skills;
Engineering C&I / Electronics / Security / Telecoms designs in project teams under the guidance of the Lead Engineer;
Produce the relevant technical modelling and drawing work in all aspects (schematics 3D models layouts sections details etc.) using project specified software such as 3D Revit;
Carry out associated calculations for input into the design reports specifications and the bills of quantities;
Collaborate with multi-disciplinary design teams within BIM environment assist with BIM model coordination using CDE platforms and tools such as ACC Revizto Asite BIM360;
Modelling the services installations in 3D Revit/BIM based on diagrams and coordinated space reservations;
Implementing knowledge based on functionality mountability accessibility and maintainability into the model to ensure that the contractor can build it according to our model without revising it;
Work within a multidisciplinary team across borders;
Collaborate on the automation of design processes and development of 3D design tools using software tools such as Dynamo Python etc;
Regular contact communication and knowledge sharing with other project team members;
