PFD Specialist 1 [IPS Supervisor] (04-6088)

What You Will Be Doing

The Permanent Fund Dividend Divisions PFD Specialist 1 is responsible for creating and maintaining all procedures relevant to the Initial Processing Section (IPS) unit and approving the work completed by the unit. This includes but is not limited to:

• Develop implement and modify plans to process internally and externally generated streams of written communication between the division applicants state and federal agencies and third parties (such as debt collectors) ensuring that processing deadlines are met.
• Organize and assign work in collaboration with group leads and satellite office supervisors.
• Provide a training program for state-wide division operational staff (imaging data entry mail processing and advanced clerical).
• Supervise and recruit Juneau operational staff (imaging data entry mail processing and advanced clerical). This includes supervising between five to seven Office Assistant 1-3s two of which are seasonal.
• Perform quality control independently and through advanced clerical staff.

The Working Environment You Can Expect

This position is located on the 11^th floor of the State Office Building in downtown Juneau at the PFDs largest office. The workspace offers an open floor design that allows natural light into the office.

Who We Are Looking For

A bachelors degree or the equivalent from an accredited college.

Or Substitution:
Four years of journey level technical experience researching and auditing documents and explaining policies procedures services or requirements to provide technical information in support of an agency or program. The required experience includes work such as PFD Technician 2 Human Resource Technician 2 Retirement and Benefits Technician 2 Tax Technician 3 Regulations Specialist 1 Business Registration Examiner or Occupational Licensing Examiner with the State of Alaska or the equivalent with another employer.

Or substitution:
Any combination of experience and post secondary education may substitute for the required bachelors degree (3 semester hours or 4 quarter hours equals one month of work experience).
