MaineGeneral Health is looking for dedicated individuals to join our team as Unit Secretaries in our Maternity and Pediatrics departments.Job Description:
- Provide administrative and clerical support to ensure the efficient operation of our nursing units.
- Welcome patients and visitors to the unit providing information and directing them as necessary.
- Answer screen and route telephone calls including calling codes paging and making overhead announcements as requested.
- Enter physicians orders and nursing requests into the system subject to the approval of a licensed nurse and seeking clarification when necessary.
- Patient Admissions Transfers and Discharges: Assist with processing patient admissions transfers and discharges and maintaining patient records and charts.
- Administrative and clerical support to ensure the smooth operation of the maternity and pediatrics units.
We are seeking candidates who have:
- Effective communication skills are crucial for interacting with patients visitors and healthcare professionals.
- Ability to perform tasks accurately and efficiently with a keen eye for detail.
- Proficiency with computers and various software applications including Microsoft Office and electronic health records (EHR) systems.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
- A collaborative attitude and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Customer Service Orientation: A commitment to providing exceptional customer service to patients visitors and staff.
