The American Association for Continuing Medical Education is an Egyptian-based professional association accredited by leading American accrediting bodies operating under international CME/CPD standards. The Association maintains active regional branches in Dubai and Saudi Arabia with planned expansion into Iraq and Jordan delivering accredited medical education across multiple healthcare systems.
The Regional Regulatory Affairs & Accreditation Specialist is responsible for centralized governance protection and expansion of all CME/CPD accreditations across the Associations regional footprint.
The role serves as the single authority for accreditation compliance ensuring continuous adherence to ACCME and other American/international standards while leading the pursuit of additional accreditations aligned with regional growth.
Maintain full compliance with ACCME Criteria for Accreditation and Standards for Integrity and Independence
Act as the primary accreditation lead for all branches (Egypt UAE KSA Iraq Jordan)
Oversee initial accreditation annual reporting progress reports and reaccreditation cycles
Serve as the official liaison with accrediting bodies and regulatory authorities
Develop and implement standardized accreditation SOPs applicable across all regions
Ensure harmonization between ACCME requirements and local country regulations
Provide regulatory guidance during market entry and branch expansion
Identify assess and pursue new accreditations and recognitions including:
Joint Accreditation pathways
Regional CME/CPD authorities
International professional or specialty bodies
Conduct gap analyses and lead accreditation readiness initiatives
Establish and manage Conflict of Interest (COI) systems across all activities
Review and approve:
Educational grants
Letters of Agreement (LOAs)
Faculty honoraria and budgets
Ensure independence of educational content from commercial influence
Maintain audit-ready accreditation documentation at all times
Lead responses to audits inspections and corrective action plans
Identify and mitigate regulatory risks related to international operations
Act as the final compliance decision-maker for CME activities
Train and guide internal teams and regional branch staff
Escalate compliance risks directly to executive leadership
Education
Bachelors degree in Pharmacy Medicine Life Sciences Dentistry or a healthcare-related field
Formal training in Regulatory Affairs CME/CPD Medical Affairs or Healthcare Compliance
Experience
24 years of experience in CME regulatory affairs or accreditation
Direct hands-on experience with ACCME-accredited providers
Proven experience managing international or multi-country CME activities
Prior exposure to audits and reaccreditation processes is mandatory
Expert knowledge of ACCME accreditation systems
Strong regulatory interpretation and risk-assessment skills
High ethical judgment and independence
Ability to enforce compliance across senior stakeholders
Excellent organizational and documentation control skills
Fluent English (written and spoken) mandatory
Fluent Arabic mandatory
Proficiency in ACCME portals compliance tracking systems and MS Office
Zero loss or suspension of accreditation
Successful audits with no critical findings
On-time accreditation submissions and reporting
Acquisition of new relevant accreditations within strategic timelines
Full compliance across all regional branches
This position is a strategic governance role not an administrative function.
It directly safeguards the Associations international credibility accreditation standing and regional expansion strategy.
