Chief Development Officer
The Chief Development Officer (CDO) is responsible for advancing YWCA Madisons mission by cultivating a culture of philanthropy that sustains and supports the organization. The CDO leads the strategy and operations to form and maintain lasting relationships with institutional and individual donors. The Chief Development Officer manages the YWCA Madison fund development and marketing team.
The Chief Development Officer participates as part of the YWCA Madison Directors Team. This role is responsible for leading the annual strategy development and implementation that promotes and increases the organizations support from individuals corporations foundations and other sources. The CDO oversees all internal development and marketing functions and serves as a point of contact for all external engagement opportunities.

YWCA Madison is a 116 year old organization that is part of the oldest and largest multiracial women-led network of associations in the world. We are the largest provider of affordable housing for women in Dane County we serve as a vital bridge to long-term stability through our transitional housing programs and are one of two shelters for families in Madison. Additionally we serve individuals through Employment and Training programs Restorative Justice in schools and community centers and through Learning and Movement Building we are collectively creating the kind of world we want to live in.

How do you know if youll be a great addition to our organization You have:
- 10 years of professional work history showcasing increased work responsibilities specifically in the area of development.
- 5-10 years of proven experience managing a nonprofit fundraising program including supervision experience for an organization with a $6Mbudget.
- A successful track record of personally engaging stewarding and retaining diverse donors including foundations corporations and individual donors.
- Demonstrated track record of developing and implementing fundraising strategies securing major gifts and consistently meeting or exceeding fundraising goals.
- Experience cultivating and growing a collaborative team culture that centers trust shared leadership accountability and growth.
- Experience with development infrastructure including grant solicitation management reconciliation and collaborating with finance departments.
- Ability to adapt quickly to changing possibilities and scenarios.

Salary begins at $98000/annually and will be commensurate with experience.
