About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity and you will play a pivotal role shaping the administrative function from the ground up!
We are seeking an experiencedPatient Admissions Managerto lead and manage the Hospitals Patient Admissions and Clerical Services. This is a key leadership role responsible for ensuring efficient accurate and patient-focused admission and discharge processes while supporting clinical teams and optimising revenue and workflow outcomes.
You will coordinate supervise train and develop a multidisciplinary Administrative Team ensuring exacting standards of customer service compliance and operational performance across all patient entry points.
Key Responsibilities
Patient Admission Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the Patient Admissions team including Ward Clerks Admissions Clerks Bookings Clerks Receptionists and Concierge staff
- Establish execute and maintain a streamlined efficient patient admission and discharge processes inline with key performance indicators
- Oversee daily clerical operations across wards theatres and reception
- Collaborate with Medical Records HIM/Coders and Revenue & Billing teams to support timely patient billing and contract management
- Develop implement and review workflows policies and procedures
- Collaborate with Medical Records HIM/Coders and Revenue & Billing teams to support timely patient billing and contract management
- Ensure Hospital Reception is sufficiently manned across designated hours and all emergency calls and codes are prioritised
- Develop implement and review workflows policies and procedures
Human Resources Management
- Manage staff rostering leave recruitment performance management and payroll authorisation
- Manage recruitment selection and appointment processes in adherence with Equal Opportunity Act Disability Services and Occupational Health and Safety.
- Coordinate staff training induction mandatory competencies and emergency code training
- Ensure compliance with legislative safety quality and governance requirements
- Promote a culture of safety accountability continuous improvement and excellent patient service
Essential Selection Criteria
- Demonstrated experience in aPrivate Hospitalenvironment including private health fund claiming
- Proven leadership experience supervising administrative staff including rostering recruitment and performance management
- Strong knowledge of hospital patient administration systems and medical records
- High-level organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities
- Excellent communication and people skills with a strong customer service focus
- Advanced level of computer literacy and meticulous attention to detail
- Commitment to the vision and values of Aegis Health
Desirable
- Experience with FYDO or other Patient Management Systems
- Knowledge of Health Fund Contracts
- Experience in quality improvement and process optimisation initiatives
