The Purchasing Specialist manages the flow of supplies and specialty products to ensure materials are available for patient care in a safe efficient and cost-effective manner.
This is a full-time position working Monday-Friday out of our Blain surgery center. Schedule will be during center hours varying between 6:30am-4:30pm.
Twin Cities Orthopedics is an operating division of Infinite Health Collaborative (i-Health) a group of local medical practices owned and led by its physicians on a mission to give patients more control over their healthcare.
Essential Functions:
- Continually monitors and manages inventory levels to ensure adequate supplies for daily operations
- Manages the purchase order process receiving and replenishment of all supplies for the surgery center
- Identify resolve and communicate product availability issues appropriately
- Coordinates inventory management activities at the surgery center
- Oversees and coordinates physical inventory process at the sites
- Manages par areas and par levels within the surgery center and maintains accuracy in the inventory system
- Review and complete purchase orders to align with contract compliance product standardization and conformity to policies.
- Confirm order status resolve daily issues and communicate with internal customers.
- Complete purchase orders for implants and conduct chart audits for accuracy.
- Maintain positive relations with internal stakeholders and suppliers.
- Assist with Supply Chain Operations initiatives including value analysis and product trials.
- Maintain reports including open PO and receipt accrual
- Process transactions for equipment and instrument procurement and maintenance.
- Review and facilitate specialized tissue implant and supply requests from OR staff/surgeons.
- Work with Accounts Payable to identify and resolve PO and invoice errors.
- Ability to lift objects more than 25 pounds and less than 60. Able to push/pull objects more than 50 pounds on a cart
- Any and all other duties as assigned
Education and Experience Requirements:
- High School diploma/GED or equivalent
- Associate degree preferred
- Minimum two years of experience in materials management related position such as purchasing inventory management or hospital supply chain
