Job Summary

The Purchasing Specialist manages the flow of supplies and specialty products to ensure materials are available for patient care in a safe efficient and cost-effective manner. Twin Cities Orthopedics is an operating division of Infinite Health Collaborative (i-Health) a group of local medical practices owned and led by its physicians on a mission to give patients more control over their healthcare.

This is a full-time position working Monday-Friday out of our Blain surgery center. Schedule will be during center hours varying between 6:30am-4:30pm.


Essential Functions:

  • Continually monitors and manages inventory levels to ensure adequate supplies for daily operations
  • Manages the purchase order process receiving and replenishment of all supplies for the surgery center
  • Identify resolve and communicate product availability issues appropriately
  • Coordinates inventory management activities at the surgery center
  • Oversees and coordinates physical inventory process at the sites
  • Manages par areas and par levels within the surgery center and maintains accuracy in the inventory system
  • Review and complete purchase orders to align with contract compliance product standardization and conformity to policies.
  • Confirm order status resolve daily issues and communicate with internal customers.
  • Complete purchase orders for implants and conduct chart audits for accuracy.
  • Maintain positive relations with internal stakeholders and suppliers.
  • Assist with Supply Chain Operations initiatives including value analysis and product trials.
  • Maintain reports including open PO and receipt accrual
  • Process transactions for equipment and instrument procurement and maintenance.
  • Review and facilitate specialized tissue implant and supply requests from OR staff/surgeons.
  • Work with Accounts Payable to identify and resolve PO and invoice errors.
  • Ability to lift objects more than 25 pounds and less than 60. Able to push/pull objects more than 50 pounds on a cart
  • Any and all other duties as assigned


Education and Experience Requirements:

  • High School diploma/GED or equivalent
  • Associate degree preferred
  • Minimum two years of experience in materials management related position such as purchasing inventory management or hospital supply chain

  • Ability to sit for extended periods (up to 8 or more hours per day).
  • Frequent use of hands and fingers for typing writing and handling documents.
  • Occasional standing walking bending or reaching within the office environment.
  • Ability to lift and carry equipment weighing up toâ50 pounds and occasionally up to 75 pounds.
  • Visual acuity to read electronic and paper documents.
  • Auditory ability to participate in phone or video calls clearly.
  • Manual dexterity to operate standard office equipment (e.g. computer phone printer).
