Job Duties
and ADA and Parental Leave. This position is also responsible for the administration of workers compensation and STD/LTD. Serves as the HR Safety representative in meetings committees and investigations. Provides guidance and direction to employees and serves as primary liaison with payroll staff DHRM VRS and benefit providers on benefits/transitions. Participates in New Employee Orientation by providing overview and insight to offered benefits. Also administers benefits in the Cardinal System.
Minimum Qualifications
Experience in the administration of benefits programs to include: health insurance life insurance disability insurance retirement to include monthly reconciliations.
Hands on experience with FMLA ADA Parental Leave policies and laws.
Experience managing benefit programs for a medium to large size organization.
Experience with payroll procedures as they relate to HR transactions is required.
Experience with the processing of HR transactions using an HRIS system.
Previous experience with providing on-boarding and/or new hire orientation specifically educating new employees with benefits information and/or an overview of relevant policies.
Experience with operating computers and using Microsoft Office applications. Intermediate level excel experience is required.
Additional Considerations
Professional certification in Human Resources (PHR/SPHR or SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP) is preferred.
Extensive experience in administering benefit programs inclusive of health dental retirement life insurance FMLA and workers compensation.
Experience in completing benefit reports annually and monthly to ensure benefit reconciliation and compliance. VNAV/VRS reconciliations is preferred.
Prior experience administering government (federal state or local) benefits.
Cardinal experience is preferred.
Experience in conducting professional presentations and/or meetings to explain and educate on benefits wellness and HR programs.
