Position Summary:
The Manager of Digital and Social Media is a hands-on role responsible for creating publishing and optimizing content that drives fan engagement and growth across all social and digital platforms. From game-day coverage and live events to campaign support and behind-the-scenes storytelling this role helps shape the teams digital voice throughout the season.

Youll work closely with creative marketing partnerships ticketing fan development and hockey operations to deliver integrated platform-specific content aligned with organizational priorities. Using performance insights and fan sentiment youll refine content strategies identify trends and recommend improvements. This role requires strong collaboration creativity and the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced live-content environment while leading initiatives and influencing outcomes across the organization.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Build oversee and execute digital and social media campaigns and content that drive fan engagement and platform growth.
  • Create content and copy for Facebook Instagram Twitter LinkedIn TikTok YouTube Threads and other social media platforms.
  • Hands-on production of stories (text video photos graphics) for website and app.
  • Attend games events and other Kraken functions to capture create and post content.
  • Build positive and productive relationships across business office hockey operations players and team personnel.
  • Work with creative and production teams to develop and produce strong visual concepts and assets for social and digital channels.
  • Deliver ideas best practices platforms and other channel enhancements to advance key marketing and communication strategies and targets.
  • Lead social and digital channel planning for organizational priorities such as ticket sales fan development and corporate partnerships.
  • Work across departments and functions to build strong cross-channel programming for fully integrated fan engagement experiences.
  • Leverage calendars and project management tools for content planning and tracking.
  • Monitor all social media channels for feedback and sentiment proactively engaging responding or escalating issues when appropriate.
  • Assist management and maintenance of Seattle Kraken website and mobile app
  • Oversee the development and delivery of teams metrics and reporting programs including reporting of social media monetization.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Experience & Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 4 years of related experience preferably in hockey or professional/collegiate sports with strong knowledge of the NHL.
  • Deep understanding of the evolving social media landscape platforms and trends.
  • Experience creating and managing digital content (webpages stories video live-action photography) using CMS tools with knowledge of basic web design and UX principles.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite Microsoft Office and social media management tools.
  • Strong copywriting creative design and visual storytelling skills.
  • Excellent communication organization collaboration and attention to detail; able to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Sound judgment independent decision-making ability and the capacity to lead and influence outcomes across the organization.
  • High degree of personal integrity and consistently put the interests of the organization first; trusted ability to protect confidential information.

Preferred Experience & Qualifications:

  • Experience in HTML CSS and Javascript are a plus.
  • Solid understanding of SEO.
  • Solid knowledge of digital landscape and next-gen fan technology and platforms.
  • Excellent analytical and project management skills.

Total Rewards Package:

  • Compensation:
    • In accordance with Washingtons Equal Pay and Opportunity Act the expected salary range for this position is $80000 - $85000 annually. Actual base pay will depend on employees experience and other job-related factors permitted by law.

Working Conditions:

  • This role is based on-site in our Seattle office and requires work to be performed in person. However we do value flexibility as the business will allow and offer occasional opportunities to work from home.
  • Some travel will be required to cover games league events attend conferences etc. Trips may require air travel and/or overnight stay away from home for one or more nights.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule inclusive of weekends nights and holidays required
  • Frequent bending lifting 15-20 pounds sitting exposure to multiple external elements extensive walking through the building including inclines and stairs
