Position Highlights
Spencer Hospital is a rural hospitallocated in northwest Iowa employing over 500 employees. Positions at Spencer Hospital are not affiliated with Avera; however we collaborate to provide services to the communities we serve. Employment offers if accepted are exclusively with Spencer Hospital.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for procedures related to cleaning sterilizing and assemble of equipment supplies and instruments for use in medical and surgical interventions
Requirements:
- HS diploma or equivalent required
- One year experience in central sterilization or hospital related field that would provide a background in medical terminology sterile technique or applied medical supplies and equipment preferred
- Possess good communication skills and contribute to completing the required work of the team
- Possess good decision-making skills organizational skills and able to adapt to change and flexibility
- Detail oriented
Schedule:
- 36 hours per pay period
- 2-9 hour variable day/evening shifts primarily on Mondays & Tuesdays
- Ideal candidate would have availability in addition to work in times of planned PTO coverage and last minute needs including additional on-call nights and weekends
- 1 weekend call per 6 weeks when fully staffed
- On-call holiday rotation 1-2 per year
- The schedule may fluctuate based upon the needs of the department
