Job Description
We are seeking a technically versatile and experienced professional to lead manufacturing process optimization while ensuring compliance with Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) standards. This role combines hands-on engineering expertise with strategic safety leadership to drive operational excellence regulatory compliance and continuous improvement.
What youll do
Environmental Health & Safety
The essential primary functions and key responsibilities for the position include but are not limited to:
- Develop implement and monitor EH&S policies procedures and programs in compliance with OSHA EPA TCEQ EMS HSMS and other regulatory standards.
- Conduct hazard analyses risk assessments and safety inspections for facilities and processes.
- Maintain safety equipment inventory and perform periodic safety inspections.
- Monitor hazardous waste removal vendors and assist in consolidating hazardous wastes (chemical radioactive and/or medical).
- Investigate incidents near-misses and accidents; recommend corrective actions.
- Provide EH&S training and awareness programs for employees.
- Maintain accurate records and prepare regulatory reports.
- Collaborate with regulatory agencies and recommend corrective actions where hazards exist.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives to reduce risks and environmental impact.
Manufacturing Engineering
The essential secondary functions and key responsibilities for the position include but are not limited to:
- Design layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency.
- Provide technical support and assist in resolution of manufacturing problems.
- Confer with design staff concerning product design and tooling to ensure proficient production methods.
- Troubleshoot electro-mechanical systems and maintain equipment operational readiness.
- Lead identification purchase and implementation of new equipment for the manufacturing floor.
- Collaborate with vendors to resolve equipment materials and quality issues.
- Drive cost reduction activities and process improvements to achieve company goals.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously and travel as required to customer sites for technical support and training.
What youll need
- Education: Bachelors degree in Environmental Engineering Safety Engineering Industrial Engineering Manufacturing Engineering or related field.
- Experience: 57 years in combined manufacturing engineering and EH&S roles.
- Strong knowledge of EHS regulations and standards.
- Proficiency in risk assessment hazard analysis incident investigation and root cause analysis.
- Excellent analytical problem-solving and communication skills.
- Project management and continuous improvement experience.
