Job Summary: The Telemetry Registered Nurse provides focused nursing care to adult patients requiring continuous cardiac monitoring. This role emphasizes clinical assessment rhythm interpretation and coordination of care in a fast-paced inpatient setting.
Responsibilities
Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms and respond appropriately to changes in patient condition.
Perform comprehensive nursing assessments and ongoing patient monitoring.
Administer medications and treatments according to clinical protocols.
Manage ventilated patients in collaboration with respiratory therapy as needed.
Document nursing care accurately and timely in the electronic medical record.
Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to ensure coordinated patient care.
Requirements
Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg Telemetry experience
Cardiac monitoring experience Required
Minimum 2 years of overall RN experience
Ventilator care experience
EPIC EMR experience highly preferred
Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) Required
Certifications
AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) Required
AHA Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Required
License: Active New York State Registered Nurse (RN) License Required
Facility Details
Location: 1000 Tenth Avenue New York NY 10019
Telemetry unit with approximately 24 beds and an average census of 22 patients
Staffing guideline of 1:5 nurse-to-patient ratio
