Recruiting for RN Supervisor to start ASAP - must have strong PACU and pre/post skills. Under the direction of Peri-Operative Director the Surgical Services Supervisor - SSSU assists with the hiring of staff disciplinary actions and performance evaluations within SSSU/PACU and GI. The right candidate for this role will have experience in pre post op PACU and GI. Supports leadership on both clinical and non-clinical issues. Collaborates with Supervisors for issue resolutions and performance improvement projects. Organizes and holds staff meetings to assist in educating and communicating staff members to achieve the best patient outcomes. Promotes and restores patients health by completing the nursing process; collaborating with physicians and multidisciplinary team members; providing physical and psychological support to patients friends and families; supervising assigned team members. Nursing care is rendered to all patients in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act hospital Nursing Department and regulatory standards. Responsible for care of patients in the SSSU/PACU and GI. Maintains the work area. Uses skills in nursing assessment to include recognizing post-anesthesia and post-operative complications. Skills and Abilities: Must have strong communication/writing skills. Able to deal effectively with patients and family members. Able to work in a team environment while maintaining a highly professional and productive work ethic. Computer proficiency. Experience: Minimum 5 years of clinical experience in Surgery and GI required. 2-5 years of progressive leadership experience preferred.
