Job Summary
- Day: 07:30AM 08:00PM
- Night: 07:30PM 08:00AM
- Weekends and federal holidays required (alternating preferred)
Active unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license (any U.S. state or territory)
- AHA Basic Life Support (BLS for Healthcare Providers) (includes CPR)
- ACLS (required for emergency/critical response situations)
Minimum 2 years inpatient psychiatric nursing experience (Must have worked in setting within the last 6 months)
- Behavioral health and psychiatric assessment
- Crisis intervention and de-escalation
- CIWA and detox monitoring
- Medication administration and monitoring
- Patient safety and risk management
- EMR documentation
- Provide direct inpatient psychiatric nursing care
- Monitor and manage psychiatric and medical emergencies
- Administer medications and treatments
- Coordinate care with interdisciplinary mental health teams
- Transport patients as needed
- Maintain accurate documentation per VA polic
- Must be able to work with COVID-positive and PUI patients
- Federal holiday coverage required
- No travel or remote assignments
