Seeking a Registered Land Surveyor. The position of the Registered Land Surveyor is responsible for coordinating with field crews to conduct boundary topographic and as-built surveys. Assisting with construction staking or site layout surveys preparing legal descriptions and assisting with zoning and permitting applications. These responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Prepare and maintain sketches maps reports and legal descriptions of surveys in order to describe certify and assume liability for work performed.
- Verify the accuracy of survey data including measurements and calculations conducted at survey sites.
- Coordinate findings with the work of engineering and architectural personnel clients and others concerned with projects.
- Train assistants and direct their work in such activities as performing surveys or drafting maps.
- Search legal records survey records and land titles in order to obtain information about property boundaries in areas to be surveyed.
- Analyze survey objectives and specifications in order to prepare survey proposals or to direct others in survey proposal preparation.
- Develop criteria for survey methods and procedures.
- Develop criteria for the design and modification of survey instruments.
- Conduct research in surveying and mapping methods using knowledge of techniques of photogrammetric map compilation and electronic data processing.
- Define scopes and propose on new work.
- Participate in proposal meetings with Customers and Owners to review the scope of work discuss ways to reduce costs and provide value engineering ideas.
- Assist with setup and maintaining projects schedules.
- Assist with setup and maintaining project budgets.
- Remain cost conscious and aware of every aspect of each project at all times.
- Assist with weekly safety meetings.
- Assist with progress meetings with Customers and Owners.
- Assist with design review meetings with key stakeholders.
Minimum Requirements:
- Travel across rough uneven or rocky surfaces.
- Move objects 20-50 pounds long distances (20 feet or more).
- Use a 16-pound sledgehammer.
- Traverse distances up to a 1/2 mile at a time up to five miles per day.
- Bend or stoop repeatedly.
- Remain in a standing position for extended periods of time.
- Make continuous or repetitive arm-hand movements.
- Work outside in all seasons/weather conditions.
- Work inside on hard surfaces.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Minimum of four to seven two (4-7) years survey or related experience.
- Thorough knowledge of construction boundary and topographic surveys.
- Thorough knowledge of survey equipment and data collection.
- The ability to adapt to new equipment and technologies.
- Associates or bachelors degree in mathematics or surveying a plus.
- NSPS/ACSM Certified Survey Technician - at least Level 3.
- Read and understand plans blueprints and specifications.
- Knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or Carlson.
- Prior Party Chief experience required
- Valid drivers license with a clean driving record required.
- Registered Land Surveyor license required
