About the role
SLC is currently looking for a Sustainability Manager to join our Estates Team at one of our locations either Glasgow Darlington or Llandudno in this new permanent role.
As Sustainability Manager at SLC you will be at the forefront of shaping our future. This is your opportunity to lead the development of SLCs Sustainability Strategy ensuring it aligns with the Greening Government Commitments and the Department for Educations Sustainability Strategy. You will implement and monitor initiatives that strengthen our environmental social and governance (ESG) performance while inspiring colleagues at every level to embrace sustainability.
What you will bring:
- Excellent understanding of sustainability principles environmental legislation and reporting frameworks with proven experience in interpreting and ensuring compliance.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities plan budget and implement sustainability projects effectively.
- Skilled in data analysis and strategy development to track progress benchmark performance and inform decision-making.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with experience managing stakeholders across government suppliers regulators and internal teams.
- Confident user of Microsoft Office and other tools essential for reporting monitoring and delivering sustainability initiatives.
- Qualification in environmental science sustainability or a related field plus professional certification (e.g. Institute of Sustainability Carbon Neutral Britain or similar).
- Previous experience implementing sustainability principles and developing ESG strategies that drive organisational impact and continuous improvement.
