Job Summary

Mainland is hiring! We are looking for a competent professional to join our team as a Project Finance Analyst. Relevant project finance or accounting experience is ideal however for the right candidate we are flexible to adapt the scope of responsibilities and qualifications.

Overview

TheProject Finance Analyst reports to the Controller and is responsible for supporting the accounting budgeting & forecasting and financial reporting requirements for the company projects.

Additionally theProject Finance Analyst may assist in managing the accounting staff which would include coaching & mentoring performance management and the provision of adequate training and development to achieve the strategic goals and objectives of the department and company.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Work with Controller to prepare monthly financial reports analyse results and maintain financial dashboards. Assist to ensure accurate and relevant reporting including job cost reporting capital expenditure reporting revenue projections cash flow departmental reporting and analysis of financial results.
  • Responsible for ensuring accurate and timely reporting of the companys financial results.
  • Manage journal entries and reconcile accounts for the monthly or annual closing identifying and resolving inaccuracies or imbalances.
  • Lead project forecast and financial reviews using data and professional skepticism to validate forecasts and operational accuracy.
  • Support operations to make critical decisions by providing timely and accurate financial projections.
  • Provide support for AP AR and job costing.
  • Identify ways to reduce costs improve processes and ensure all systems are properly integrated.
  • Follow and maintain accounting policies and procedures and maintain a system of controls over accounting transactions.
  • Maintain Work on Hand report for Forecasting and Bonding.
  • Assist in overseeing the preparation and filing of statutory reporting and remittances to CRA GST PST unions WorkSafeBC and others; manage external audits such as CRA PST GST.
  • Perform additional responsibilities per managements direction.

Qualifications Experience & Skill Set:



  • Bachelors degree or relevant education and CPA designation or similar designation.
    • A combination of education and work experience will be considered.
  • Previous experience in the construction sector - private company experience would be an asset.
  • Proficiency in Dynamics 365 Business Central PowerBI Procore HCSS Suite of Software Microsoft Office.
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to present financial statements in logical plain language.
  • Thrives in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment.
  • Strong cost accounting budgeting financial reporting skills.
  • Strong problem solver who applies skilled analysis and considers all variables.
  • Meticulous with an exceptional eye for producing work of the highest quality.
