Description

The Head of eCommerce will lead and maximize GMV (Gross Merchandise Value) growth across Chinas leading online platforms including Tmall Douyin Pinduoduo WeChat Mini Programs and emerging marketplaces. This role will establish key elements of short-to mid-term e-commerce tactical and operational plans with measurable contributions to the achievement of the sub-functions resultsspecifically linking plan execution to metrics such as GMV targets conversion rates and inventory turnover. It will take full ownership of e-commerce sales strategy performance optimization and key account management to accelerate revenue growth (sell-in and sell-out) whilst ensuring a healthy level of customer inventories. The role will develop new operational processes standards or plans (e.g. platform-specific optimization workflows cross-team collaboration protocols) to support the e-commerce functions overall strategy. With budget and P&L accountability for the e-commerce area the Head of eCommerce will track P&L performance to ensure profitability aligns with growth. This role will lead and direct a team of key account managers to execute CooperVision Chinas online sales strategy manage all digital platforms drive customer engagement and increase operational efficiency and brand loyalty.



Responsibilities

GMV Growth & Sales Strategy

Develop and execute a data-driven e-commerce sales strategy focused on maximizing GMV profitability ROI and market share.

Set aggressive GMV targets and implement initiatives to increase UV (unique visitors) CVR (conversion rates) (ASP) basket size and repeat purchases.

Identify and capitalize on emerging e-commerce trends sales channels and new business opportunities.

Key Account & Platform Management

Own and optimize sales performance on major platforms including Tmall Douyin Pinduoduo and WeChat Mini Programs.

Build and strengthen relationships with platform category managers and online distributors to drive exclusive promotions and premium brand positioning.

Negotiate high-visibility placements traffic-boosting initiatives and exclusive partnerships to maximize sales potential.

Promotional Campaigns & Traffic Optimization

Lead the planning and execution of major e-commerce campaigns including DoubleShopping E-Festival and Super Brand Days.

Collaborate with marketing teams to implement high-ROI digital advertising influencer marketing and live streaming strategies.

Continuously test and refine pricing bundling and promotional strategies to drive sales growth.

Performance Tracking & Data-Driven Decision Making

Monitor and analyze GMV performance conversion rates ROI customer acquisition costs (CAC) and platform traffic trends.

Utilize platform analytics tools and sales dashboards to identify growth opportunities and optimize sales funnels.

Implement A/B testing and advanced data analytics to improve customer retention and maximize profitability

Report insights to executives and recommend data-driven actions

Innovation

Stay informed on industry trends and emerging technologies integrating innovative solutions to improve e-commerce operations.

Explore emerging technologies (AI AR) to enhance online shopping experience

Pilot new sales channels for potential business opportunities

Team Leadership & Cross-functional Collaboration

Lead the e-commerce team providing mentorship and fostering a culture of performance collaboration and innovation.

Lead a cross-functional team fostering collaboration between marketing finance commercial operations logistics and customer service to ensure seamless execution of e-commerce initiatives.

Partner with marketing and content teams to enhance product discoverability and optimize online store performance Work closely with supply chain and operations teams to ensure inventory planning and fulfillment efficiency.

Align with regulatory and legal teams to ensure compliance with Chinas e-commerce and healthcare industry regulations.



Qualifications
Knowledge Skills and Abilities:

Deep expertise in digital commerce performance marketing and platform sales optimization.

Strong negotiation skills and ability to manage high-value relationships with e-commerce partners

Data-driven mindset with proficiency in analytics tools KPI tracking and forecasting.

Deep understanding of digital trends and consumer behavior

Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.

Excellent communication and presentation abilities capable of influencing stakeholders at all levels.

Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously

Strong leadership skills with experience managing cross-functional teams in a dynamic environment.

Proven ability to lead and motivate a team with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Fluent in Mandarin Chinese; English proficiency is a plus.

Work Environment:

50% office based and 50% domestic travels

Experience:

10 years of experience in e-commerce digital marketing or related fields with a proven track record of driving significant growth in GMV and sales. Eyewear experience is preferred.

  • Leadership experience with the ability to build and manage a high-performing sales team.

A customer-centric approach with a focus on delivering exceptional online experiences.

Education:

Bachelors degree in Marketing Business or a related field (Masters degree preferred).
