Job Summary

Bennington-Rutland Supervisory Union is seeking a Bus Assistant for the 2025/2026 school year. The Bus Assistant assists the school bus driver in providing safe transportation of assigned students with special transportation needs to and from designated bus stops. The Bus Assistant effectively supervises and manages the behavior of assigned students positively reinforces expectations and helps the bus driver ensure the safety and well-being of passengers. The Bus Assistant greets all riders assists students in getting on and off the bus promotes safe behavior assists with bus evacuations during emergencies and communicates with school administrators as bus ride starts and ends at The Dorset School in Dorset VT or at a location along the bus route to be determined by the Student Services Coordinator or Director of Transportation. Each workday consists of a morning route and an afternoon route.
