Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Construction Lawyer to join our Legal department. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction law providing legal counsel on contracts compliance dispute resolution and risk management related to construction projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Draft review and negotiate construction contracts including design-build construction management and general contractor agreements.
- Advise on regulatory compliance and permitting requirements.
- Manage construction-related disputes including claims and litigation.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders including project managers engineers and procurement teams to ensure legal compliance and risk mitigation.
- Manage contractor licensing requirement programs to ensure all contractors meet legal and regulatory standards.
- Stay updated on industry trends and legal developments affecting construction law.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited university.
- Licensed to practice law in the U.S. (Ohio preferred).
- 6-8 years of experience in construction law including contract negotiation and dispute resolution.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
