Role Overview:
This role will drive US federal business by aligning CHAOS technical capabilities to operational requirements at non-DOD departments and agencies. This role is specifically targeting the Department of Homeland Security Department of Justice and Department of Transportation but will overlap and intersect with intelligence and defense activities. The ideal candidate will have a detailed understanding of the security requirements the operational environment strategic plans and how one gets stuff done within these organizations. Rest assured no two days will be the same. Be hungry - this role requires strong initiative to learn drive and deliver outcomes while building a business line and the team around you.
Responsibilities:
- Understand and translate the customer needs. Each department and agency has a language all its own. This role requires building trust with the customer being in their environment understanding their mission and translating opportunities and requirements back to CHAOS.
- Priorities requirements and champions. This role will develop intimate knowledge about what is most important what is authorized and who cares the most and has a budget.
- Navigation and partnership. There is a way to get things done - process money acquisition advocacy and execution. This role will develop the strategy and lead the work. Success in this role will make CHAOS the customers most trusted partner.
- Get out of the office. Be where the customer needs us either in Washington or in the field. Learn and build trust through high-touch engagements. This is your hunting license.
Minimum Requirements:
- Intimate knowledge of the US national security landscape: Strategies capability gaps and where to go/who to ask to learn what you dont.
- Acquisition Understanding: Proven experience in federal acquisition budgeting process and requirements generation.
- Program/Project Management: Proven experience in developing requirements scoping programs and delivering to customers in the federal government.
- Enjoy getting your hands dirty literally: CHAOS is an engineering-first company with a hardware component. This role will involve getting hands-on hardware in the field with customers.
- Risk tolerance: We intend to go with our customers to where they need us most to deliver.
- Location and Travel: Washington DC with regular domestic and occasional international travel up to 10 days per month. Travel likely exceeds 10 days per month during the first 90-180 days.
- Security Clearance: An existing US security clearance (Secret or above)
Preferred Requirements:
- Radar RF sensor weapons systems or communications experience.
- Engineering background.

Salary Range: $180000 - $240000
The stated compensation range reflects only the targeted base compensation range and excludes additional earnings such as bonus equity and benefits.
