Healthcare Assistant (Seasonal)

Girl Scouts North Carolina Coastal Pines seeks dynamic and enthusiastic individuals to be part of our 2026 Summer Camp Team supporting our overnight camp programs across all Council properties: Camp Mary Atkinson Camp Graham Camp Hardee and Camp Mu-Sha-Ni.

We are seeking a Healthcare Assistant to support our overnight camp program at Camp Mary Atkinson. This position may also support smaller program groups operating at Camp Graham Camp Hardee and Camp Mu-Sha-Ni throughout the summer. Transportation will be provided from Camp Mary Atkinson to the other camp properties as needed.

Position: Healthcare Assistant

Location: Camp Mary Atkinson Selma NC (with travel to other Council camps as needed)

Duration: Summer 2026 (mid-May through the end of July)

Compensation: Weekly salary of $412.00 including housing and meals after training

Were excited to offer summer camp staff the opportunity to earn up to a $500 bonus this summer!

Heres how it works:

• $250 Mid-Summer Bonus: Camp staff hired for the summer who remain employed through the end of June will receive a $250 bonus.
• $250 Completion Bonus: Camp staff who remain employed through the end of summer camp will receive a $250 bonus.

A Day in the Life:

• Maintaining Records: Assist the Healthcare Supervisor with maintaining accurate and detailed medical records according to state and American Camp Association Standards
• Health and Safety: Assist in providing health and safety services to campers and staff.
• Create Memories: Serve as a role model to campers and staff. Help make this summer unforgettable for campersand for yourself!

• Must be at least 18 years of age or a high school graduate.
• Current first aid/CPR certification or must be able to obtain or become certified in First Aid/CPR. Training will be provided.
• Experience in first aid and emergency management services.
• Ability to interact with all age levels.
• Prior camp experience or working with youth preferred.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities

• Understanding of youth development and the ability to relate positively to youth and adults.
• Program coordination skills and commitment to the Girl Scout mission.
• Willingness to live and work in a camp setting including working nontraditional hours.

Physical Aspects of the Job

• Ability to lift/assist campers and staff.
• Ability to read and follow directions on medication labels health forms physician orders and parent letters.
• Ability to use a telephone.
• Ability to maintain a written record system.
• Ability to quickly get to remote locations on a camp property over uneven terrain.
• Ability to observe and assess sanitation and safety conditions of the camp.
• Exhibit endurance to meet emergency needs.
• Willingness to live in a camp setting and work irregular hours with limited or simple equipment and facilities.
