Job Summary

Our client is a precision health company leveraging advanced data analytics genomics and medical expertise to deliver personalized health insights and prevention strategies. They are seeking an experienced Lead Backend Engineer to design develop and deploy scalable cloud-based backend services mentor a development team and ensure the reliability and performance of advanced health data platforms.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the end-to-end design development and deployment of cloud-native backend services.
Define and implement scalable secure and maintainable architectures aligned with business and data requirements.
Manage and mentor a team of backend developers fostering a collaborative innovative and high-performance culture.
Ensure scalability reliability and performance across backend systems handling complex health and genomic data.
Establish and enforce best coding practices including test-driven development and secure coding standards.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams Data Science Product and DevOps to deliver new features and system enhancements.
Oversee CI/CD pipelines automation workflows and infrastructure-as-code practices.
Conduct code reviews provide actionable feedback and drive continuous improvement.
Integrate new technologies to enhance system efficiency and maintainability.
Ensure compliance with DevSecOps principles and security standards.
Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues.

Requirements

Masters degree in Computer Science Engineering or related technical field.
8 years of professional experience in backend software development.
Proven hands-on experience with Java and Python in production environments.
Demonstrated success leading cloud software development programs.
Strong expertise in AWS services and experience with containerization and orchestration (Docker Kubernetes).
Solid understanding of microservices architecture and RESTful API design.
Proficiency with version control systems (preferably Git).
Familiarity with DevSecOps principles and security best practices.
Excellent problem-solving communication and leadership skills.
Experience in the healthcare technology domain or knowledge of industry standards and data regulations (e.g. GDPR HIPAA) is a significant plus.
