The Strategic Governance lead is responsible for developing governance frameworks and ensuring they are implemented across the programme. This role ensures that all governance processes are adhered to promoting transparency accountability and compliance with industry standards and regulations. The Governance Lead will work closely with project managers contractors and other stakeholders to ensure the successful delivery of the project within the governance frameworks.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide strategic oversight through ensuring alignment with government objectives and public accountability.
- Continuous governance by managing day-to-day governance processes.
- Manage stakeholders expectations coordinating effectively across agencies contractors and regulators.
- Facilitate discussions between the parties regarding accountabilities authority alignment disclosure and management of risk.
- Ensure regulatory compliance by monitoring and reporting on ongoing adherence to regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate with different stakeholders to maintain alignment with governance policies.
- Create and manage documentation and reporting related to governance.
- Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
- Monitor risks and issues from a governance perspective.
- Act as the main point of contact for governance matters.
- Ensure processes for audits and reviews are in place and followed.
- Monitor effectiveness of governance management systems and processes and recommend actions where they are not.
- Ensure that the outcomes remain consistent with the original objectives.
Qualifications :
- 15 years experience in assurance activities.
- Extensive experience of driving best practice in technical activities processes policies and standards.
- In-depth understanding of the design and delivery requirements of technically complex construction projects.
- Extensive experience of dealing with a range of stakeholders at all levels across the organisation influencing the improvement of process and providing guidance to support project delivery and reporting.
- Knowledge of quality managementand process improvement practices and systems is desirable.
