For this position teleworking is permitted full timeafter training is complete. This position is flexible/hybrid. 1 day a week required in Tumwater Headquarters office (HQ). During first two weeks required to be in HQ for training.
Some of what youll do:
Note: This is a lead position. Revenue Agent 3 will assign instruct and check others work.
Monitor workflow and assign work.
Special projects as needed.
Train new staff and complete a training plan with recommendations if the person is learning and retaining the information learned and applying it correctly and appropriately
Maintain training manual
Collect money owed to the Department per RCW/WACS laws timelines policies and addition perform caseload management and administrative actions.
Pursue the States interest in the collection of receivables in bankruptcy status.
Take collection actions to resolve delinquent accounts.
Responsible for maintaining and updating the Bankruptcy Specialty Collection Units training manuals conducting all new hire training and conducting refresher training for the unit on a quarterly basis.
Work with debtors for debts received from all over the agency that involve bankruptcy receivership probate estate or other insolvency.
Negotiate payment agreements with customers or their legal representatives. Monitors payment agreements and takes appropriate action if customer defaults.
Prepare and files proof of claims in Electronic Claim Filing application or by mail with claims agent when appropriate
Identify investigate assess and collect receivables due to post-petition bankruptcy accounts.
Review Pacer and the Chapter 13 Trustee websites for updates on bankruptcy accounts.
Prepare and file proof of claims in Electronic Claim Filing application or by mail with claims agent when appropriate.
Research and prepare professional documents with supporting evidence/exhibits for tax cases as needed or requested.
Required:
Two (2) years of experience as a Revenue Agent 2.
OR:
A Bachelors degree involving major study in business administration accounting public administration police science economics criminal justice sociology psychology law or closely related field.
AND
Two years of experience in the field of personal or business finance tax auditing law law enforcement adjustment of claims examination and analysis of business tax records collection of civil debts or another related field.
Please Note: Additional qualifying experience may substitute year-for-year for the education.
Desired:
Knowledge of collections practices as well as the RCWs and WACs related to collections for the various programs in Department of Labor and Industries.
