TheRehabilitation Counselor-Entry / Rehabilitation Counselorposition is responsible for performing casework within a caseload utilizing skills and techniques that enable a person with a disability to successfully interface with their total environment in the community and obtain maintain and advance in employment. Travel may be required for this position and must be performed as needed.
The Office of Workforce Development (OWD)is a key division of Louisiana Works managing programs in workforce training job placement apprenticeships and business engagement. Through collaboration with local boards educational institutions and industry partners OWD aims to improve economic mobility for job seekers and ensure Louisiana employers have the skilled talent they need contributing to the states economic growth.
Louisiana Rehabilitation Services (LRS) assists persons with disabilities in their desire to obtain maintain or advance in competitive integrated employment and achieve independence in their communities by providing rehabilitation services and working cooperatively with businesses and other community resources.

IDEALCANDIDATEWILLPOSSESSTHEFOLLOWINGCOMPETENCIES:
A bachelors degree plus one year of experience in rehabilitation services social services administrative services therapy services or nursing; OR
A bachelors degree in a rehabilitation field a social sciences field social work education nursing health and human services speech therapy or business administration; OR
A masters degree.
