Job Title: Senior Mechanical Engineer Large-Scale System Design Orlando FL W2

Location: Orlando FL Work Model: 100% Onsite Travel: Up to 30%

About the Role:
Join a 100% employee-owned ENR Top 500 engineering firm as a Senior Mechanical Engineer leading hands-on design of large custom mechanical systems from concept through installation and commissioning. Take full ownership of projects from early concept sketches to operational buildable systems collaborating closely with fabrication installation and multi-disciplinary engineering teams.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead mechanical system design from concept or blank sheet to detailed execution.
• Perform stress fatigue reliability and tolerance calculations for complex systems.
• Develop 3D models and designs using SolidWorks (preferred) Creo or Inventor.
• Design troubleshoot and optimize pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
• Manage vendor scope to ensure safety functionality and compliance with codes/standards.
• Conduct risk assessments failure analysis and implement design mitigations for safety-critical components.
• Document mechanical system designs analysis reports test plans and maintenance procedures.
• Support field installation and commissioning including off-shift work when needed.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering (or closely related field with relevant experience).
• 10 years of mechanical engineering experience with 3 years leading design from concept through major redesigns or new systems (50% redesign).
• Strong mechanical design and analysis skills (stress fatigue reliability material selection).
• Hands-on experience with 3D modeling software (SolidWorks preferred).
• Pneumatic and hydraulic system design experience.
• Field or installation experience in manufacturing/industrial environments.
• US Citizens or Green Card holders only.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with ASTM standards and safety-critical mechanical systems.
• Amusement/attractions ride system design experience.
• Risk assessment failure analysis and safety-focused design experience.
